Most of us don’t do really high quality thinking in businesses today. It’s common for people to ‘go with the flow’ or ‘feel unable to speak out’. It’s a shame…

If, as a business leader, you could unlock this potential in your people, you could tap into a whole new source of deliverable ideas. As is commonly phrased in business, the brain that has the problem often has the solution. So what’s the problem then? Why don’t the solution and ideas come out? For some people it’s a case of “not rocking the boat”. But in many cases people have just lost the ability to think and think creatively.

As today’s children go from primary school to secondary school the subjects narrow and the creativity reduces. Education become more serious (or boring to coin a teenager). This continues, and I believe that it is this combined with an overly prescribed approach to teaching that is slowly reducing the ability to think creatively in the workplace. Fortunately, creativity is a birth right, a fundamental part of your nature, you can therefore tap into it at any time, no matter how long it has been since you really used it.

Ask yourself:
How good is the quality of your thinking?
Did you ever study your thinking?
What would help your to improve the quality of your thinking?

No matter what your circumstance or goals, no matter where you are, or what problems you face, you are better off if your thinking is skilled. We need the best information to make the best choices; whatever those choices are. Take the time to think.
